For 50 ME, PSG can take revenge on Real Madrid

The big European clubs are very sensitive to young talents from South America and they are recruiting them earlier and earlier. Real Madrid have had success in Brazil and would like to acquire a 17-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder. But, PSG is on the lookout.

We knew the galactic Real Madrid of the 2000s with its many stars, but the 2020 version of Real has become more of a nursery of champions. The Merengues have adapted to the transfer market, looking for very young gems all over the world. There was Arda Guler in Türkiye but it was especially in Brazil that the investments were most recurrent with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Endrick. A profitable strategy since Vinicius and Rodrygo have become world stars, much more expensive now than Florentino Perez’s initial investment (45 million euros for each player). Real wants to apply this strategy to Franco Mastantuono.

A PSG-Real duel for Mastantuono

Playing for River Plate, this young Argentine midfielder is only 17 years old. Nevertheless, he impressed observers in his first season in the Argentine championship. Real quickly positioned itself on the player but PSG came to put obstacles in his way. This is what Argentinian journalist Renzo Pantich says. According to him, Mastantuono is an absolute priority of Parisian sports advisor Luis Campos.

Things could go very quickly between PSG and Real Madrid especially since Franco Mastantuono has a release clause. River Plate set it at 50 million euros. A high price for a young man of 17 but not necessarily if he is gifted. We will now see if PSG will succumb quickly and especially before Real Madrid. Given Madrid’s success with this kind of crack in recent times, the Parisians will not have to hesitate for too long.
