A former Green is back in action!

Without a club since his departure from AS Saint-Étienne in December 2023, Laurent Batlles now aspires to find a coaching position. The former coach of the Greens, who converted to consulting for Canal+, recently spoke about his projects in an interview for the podcast Under Greens.

Batlles looking for a new challenge

Laurent Batlles first shared his feelings after his ouster from AS Saint-Etienne: “ It’s going very well. It was a little hard at the start because it’s never easy to let go of a club, its players and its profession. » He explains that he took a step back for a while, devoting himself more to his loved ones and to personal activities, such as padel. However, after this period of rest, the former coach admits that he misses the field and is ready to consider a return.

In his new activity as a consultant for Canal+, Batlles participates in several broadcasts, notably on Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and European competitions. This experience, although enriching, does not seem to be enough to satisfy his need to be at the heart of the action on the ground. He confides thus: “ It’s starting to tease you to come back to football. So we have to see what’s happening because if a position ever comes up, we have to be aware of what’s happening in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. »

Aware of the difficulties in finding a coaching position, especially in Ligue 1, Laurent Batlles is nevertheless optimistic about his future prospects: “ What can you wish for me? To find a club fairly quickly. » While keeping in mind that his return will depend on the opportunities that present themselves, he remains attentive to the news of the French championships.

In conclusion, Batlles, although having taken advantage of his free time and his experience as a consultant, seems ready to dive back into the adventure of a sideline, hoping that the opportunity will present itself soon.
