Mercato: One of PSG’s targets signs with Jorge Mendes

Great hope of Portuguese football and Sporting CP, Geovany Quenda has just joined the Jorge Mendes galaxy, a few weeks after being courted by PSG.

New sensation in Portuguese football, Geovany Quenda (17 years old) reveals himself at the start of the season under the colors of Sporting CP. Left-handed winger, Quenda is used as a right player in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3, who started him in his team’s first nine matches this season, before bringing him in during the last two matches. .

Called up to Portugal’s A selection last month, Quenda is a Portuguese prospect well known to European football scouts and unsurprisingly, Luis Campos’ PSG is already very aware of his development. Last week, the Portuguese daily A Bola revealed that PSG had tried to recruit him last August, when his clause was still 45 million euros.

Quenda sets foot in the Jorge Mendes galaxy

But Quenda ultimately stayed in Lisbon and has since extended his contract with Sporting CP until 2027 with a new clause set at €100 million. In addition to PSG, English clubs are also on the lookout and Sporting CP would see Quenda as its next big sale, even if the timing of a transfer remains to be determined.

And who says big money and Portuguese nugget necessarily says Jorge Mendes. Quenda has recently joined Polaris Sports, one of the Portuguese super-agent’s many companies, which deals with the representation and image rights of athletes and sports personalities. Quenda is still represented by player agency Sferico Sports Management, but Polaris Sports will now take care of his image.

In other words, Quenda has just set foot in the Jorge Mendes galaxy and if he keeps his former agents for the moment, there is no doubt that the famous Portuguese agent will not be very far away in the event of a big transfer within a few months. Via his player agency Gestifute, Jorge Mendes represents Warren Zaire-Emery, Bradley Barcola, João Neves, Vitinha, Gonçalo Ramos and Marco Asensio at PSG.
