Former president of LOSC and current owner of the Girondins de Bordeaux, Gérard Lopez is the subject of an investigation by Mediapart into the financial management of the club.

These payments would not be the only ones, with 2.8 million euros in commissions paid to his company based in Luxembourg, Jogo Bonito group. Gérard Lopez’s lawyer strongly defended his client following these accusations. However, these facts are added to the multiple loans with high interest made by the former leader of LOSC, which gradually pushed the Girondins de Bordeaux to the edge of the abyss, accumulating debt.
Since its takeover by Gérard Lopez, Bordeaux has fallen from L1 to N2 in three years, administratively demoted this summer.
