The transfer window has been closed for more than a month (since August 30). Movements have necessarily reduced and should resume in January. Nevertheless, several players were able to find a club after this deadline. This is the case of one of the former residents of Etrat, the ASSE training center. Explanations.
A winner of the Gambardella with ASSE
Zakaria Bengueddoudj is a player from the 2000 generation of ASSE. He studied in Forez from 2016 to 2019 after being spotted at partner club Olympique de Saint-Etienne. Left free after the Gambardella Cup victory, this offensive player has not given up the idea of making a living from football. First by signing with the Lyon club Saint-Priest before offering himself a challenge in D4 Switzerland at CS Chenoix. A club from the Franco-Swiss border.
A profitable choice which would subsequently open the doors of Annecy to him. Recruited for the reserves at first, he even got playing time with the pro team.
From league 2 to N3?
While he seemed to be making his mark at Annecy, Zakaria Bengueddoudj was waiting for a professional contract. After making his mark in Haute-Savoie where he took part in 14 League 2 matches during the 2023-2024 season, he left on loan to Berrichonne de Châteauroux to gain experience in N1. He will play 9 matches and will see his Annecy adventure come to an end.
Looking for a new project and with an interesting CV that could have convinced L2 or N1 clubs, he finally bounced back into National 3 at Hauts Lyonnais. He therefore joins a club already made up of Baptiste Gabard, Clement Cabaton and Tom Meyer. A club which plays in the ASSE reserve group and which will therefore come to Etrat for the first leg on January 12, 2025. The opportunity for several players to return to the fields on which they grew up.
