FC Barcelona: Jules Koundé sanctioned by Flick – FC Barcelona

Jules Koundé, the player most used by Hansi Flick before the last day, was replaced in the starting team after a sanction from the coach.

Hansi Flick’s last composition during FC Barcelona’s match against Deportivo Alavés surprised more than one. Sure enough, Koundé, who had played all 900 minutes of the previous ten matches, found himself on the bench. Hansi Flick replaced him in the starting team with Hector Fort. This decision initially seemed intended to give rest to one of Barça’s essential players, but this was ultimately not the case.

Koundé sanctioned for his lateness

According to Adrià Albets at Carrusel Deportivo, the German coach took this measure as a sanction: “Koundé arrived a little late for this pre-match discussion and Flick had already warned the players that he was adamant in the event of a delay. In the end, the replacement of Koundé was more than a rest, probably also because he was the only Barça player who had participated in all the matches and I had played every minute, it was a bit of a punishment for being arrived late“, underlined Adriá Albets. Punctuality is therefore a very strict requirement of the Barça coach and he has demonstrated it.
