PSG tackles town hall in the matter of the new stadium

For months, the future of the Parc des Princes has been at the heart of debates and tensions. Saint-Germain would like to expand it, but does not want to finance everything without being the owner. The Paris town hall is reluctant to pay and sell. A few months ago, Parisian President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has decided with an announced departure. We now wait to see where the club could play its matches in the future. It should be in the Paris region with a new stadium, but the Paris town hall has launched the desire to take legal action in order to have the decided land reservation canceled by the region. PSG responded to the newspaper The Parisian.

“The Club is progressing calmly on its new stadium project and is delighted to count on the support of the region. The sudden panic of the town hall confirms the seriousness of this project.

The city of Paris cannot publicly claim to be open to dialogue and torpedo all the alternatives on which the club is working. This reveals the blatant hypocrisy that town hall has demonstrated since the start of negotiations. »

This argument is boring and a little sad to see, with the Paris town hall not wanting to let PSG leave or really helping them stay. The statements have been clearly in this direction several times. At least, the sale of the Parc des Princes is closed and the club needs to be an owner in order to progress.

We therefore expect PSG to take this step. The town hall may try to oppose it, but it is hard to believe that it will be possible to block the club for very long. Which does not work haphazardly and has significant support.
