Antoine Griezmann’s very turbulent evening in La Liga

Antoine Griezmann was not welcome in the arena of his former club, Real Sociedad. Last Sunday, during the 9th day of the championship between Real Sociedad and Atlético Madrid (1-1), the Frenchman had a complete match with an assist in the first minute of play to his teammate Julian Alvarez. The Colchoneros player was however the victim of death threats by some of the supporters at the Anoeta stadium in San Sebastian according to the Spanish sports media. “Griezmann, die, go die” were heard coming down from the stands. The organizers of the match had to launch a message on the giant screens saying: “No to racist, xenophobic and intolerant chants.” As a reminder, Antoine Griezmann played at Real Sociedad from 2005 to 2014.
