Chancel Mbemba will attack OM and Longoria

Between Chancel Mbemba and OM, the rag is burning. The Congolese is always sidelined and this pushes him to rebel. Salary sanctions are raining down but Mbemba continues to challenge them before the LFP.

OM and Chancel Mbemba are not doing each other any favors. The management no longer wants to see the Congolese defender in the professional group after having forced him to leave in the transfer window without success. For his part, Chancel Mbemba clings to his contract but, frustrated, increases his acts of rebellion. After attacking Marseille leader Ali Zarrak in August, he refused to attend a medical examination organized by OM for his knee. Mbemba went to see a doctor of his choice to have an MRI, invoking his right to do so. A decision that cost him dearly in terms of salary.

A final contested salary deduction

According to La Provence, OM punished him with a 23-day salary deduction. The central defender is already contesting this decision and he will refer the matter to the LFP legal commission according to the Marseille daily. Mbemba believes that the sanction is “ contrary to the scale established internally by the club » for this type of facts. This is not the first time that the Mbemba clan has legally attacked a punishment inflicted by OM.

Indeed, after his altercation with Ali Zarrak, Mbemba received 14 days of salary deduction. The Congolese complained to the LFP, which forced OM to reduce the sanction to only 6 days of salary deduction. Mbemba could therefore win his case again. The situation is explosive at OM and it could degenerate further, especially if Mbemba draws inspiration from the Lassana Diarra case law to assert his rights. After the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union, players under contract are no longer at the mercy of their club. If he is not reintegrated into the professional group as required by the texts of the LFP, Chancel Mbemba will have the power to concretely harm OM.
