The game? Yes, that’s my philosophy, I’m not going to deny it. But we have to be better at recovering the ball. We really need to improve. It’s not an excuse but Jubal’s injury during the warm-up is a bit of a downfall. In Ligue 1, as soon as you lose the ball, it hurts. We are too naive defensively, too light, to hope for a better result away. We didn’t know how to hinder the Greens’ wingers and we left too much space. […] The problem facing teams like Saint-Étienne with a fairly readable game is that we cannot adapt. They avoid pressure by playing long on Sissoko, we have never won the duels on Sissoko or on the second ball behind. It’s up to us to adapt, it’s a quality of Sainté to have an axis player who monopolizes the attention, perhaps Jubal would have been efficient in this area. »
