Ligue 1 – D7: The notes of the Dogues after LOSC – FC

Three days after beating Real Madrid, LOSC needed a half-time to digest before moving forward again to win against . Here are the grades we give to the Mastiffs at the end of this meeting.

Lucas Chevalier (6,5) : Beaten on the opening score by a few millimeters, the goalkeeper was impeccable afterwards, including a superb save on the line at 0-1 and a goal at the feet at 1-1, two gestures ultimately decisive on the final score.

Thomas Meunier (4) : Starting for the first time in two weeks, the Belgian international failed to get into the pace of the match imposed by the Toulouse team, often caught in the rush and with little technical success in his use of the ball.

Tiago Santos (6.5): Entering at half-time, the Portuguese right-back brought a lot of dynamism and percussion into the first Lille restart, which had the gift of hampering the very effective Toulouse pressing in the first half. Defensively, he was also applied, particularly against the twirling Gboho.

Bafode Diakité (4): The Lille central defender was in difficulty in several phases of play, like that of the goal where Gboho put him down much too easily at the start of the action. Not sovereign in the duels also and put in difficulty on the restart by the Toulouse intensity of the attackers in pressing.

Alexsandro (5): Quickly warned, the Brazilian managed this sanction rather well by maintaining his ability to defend while advancing. Also in difficulty on the restart, he must do better on the Toulouse goal where he does not accompany Gboho enough towards the goal line to hinder him in his final decision-making.

Gabriel Gudmundsson (5) : Mixed match for the Swedish full-back, who made some breakthroughs offensively but was also caught behind his back on several occasions. He recovered well in the second half and could have been heroic if there had not been a goal just after his save on the opponent’s opener.

Benjamin André (6): He came close to conceding a penalty even if a sanction would have been severe and his first half was, as for all his teammates, quite difficult. But he was always present in the duels and in the engagement before managing to regain the upper hand in the second half on the Toulouse midfield.

André Gomes (4) : The matches follow one another and are not the same for the Portuguese, who was also quickly warned and who lost several dangerous full-axis balls. His exit at half-time thus punished 45 minutes where he never managed to get into the mood of the match, even if he was not helped by the Lille collective.

Ayyoub Bouaddi (8) : A new high-level performance for the mid-17 year old, available, fair and above all full of personality in his game to gain the upper hand over his direct opponents. All concluded with a superb assist on Bakker’s winning goal, his first in Ligue 1 and the second in all competitions.

Edon Zhegrova (5): The Kosovar international was particularly targeted by the Toulouse defenders and midfielders, always with the desire to move him as far as possible while blocking him with several players. He still tried several times and he could have been decisive with a shot close to the post then a magnificent cross to David. But it could have gone the other way with two losses of ball which forced Lucas Chevalier to work.

Angel Gomes (6,5) : After a first half where we had difficulty finding him between the lines to direct the Lille game, he sounded the Lille revolt in the second half with a lot of activity and still the same ability to move the game forward offensively. Quite a symbol too since he equalized after a one-two with Sahraoui, a week after missing a not really important penalty in .

Osame Sahraoui (6): The future Moroccan international is a real electric battery in his corridor, sometimes even seeming unstoppable with his high frequency of support. He did not always succeed in hurting the Toulouse defense without disappearing from the Lille offensive game. But his highlight of the match will remain this sublime ladle for Angel Gomes, synonymous with the third assist in the last two Ligue 1 matches.

Jonathan David (5,5) : He didn’t have many situations on the attacking front and certainly needs to do better with a header at the far post from a superb cross from Zhegrova. But he found legs and lucidity between the lines to provide solutions to his midfielders in the face of opposing pressure and his relationship with Angel Gomes was important in relaunching the match at the start of the second half.
