He is a boy with very strong potential who joins theAS Vitré. At only 18 years old, Brieuc Bétin launches into new challenges after an early career marked by injuries.

Training with the Red and Black

His beginnings in football date back to the U6 category, Torcé, in his local club. But after a few years playing there, Brieuc quickly attracted the attention of Stade Rennais.

“When I was in U11, I passed detections at Stade Rennaiswhere they asked me to come and do two training sessions with them. That’s when they wanted me to join the club. But with my parents, I made the decision not to go, because I had to go to college in and I was not ready,” explains the Torcéen.

It will therefore evolve for two years AS Vitré before finally joining the Stade Rennais pre-training center at the age of 13.

This adventure among the Rouge et Noir will take place in two steps : the first between the ages of 13 and 15, where he will play in pre-training in the U15 and U16 categories, then the second at the training center, which he will leave at the end of last season.

It has notably evolved with the groups National U17 and U19as well as with the reserve in National 3.

A 5-year cycle that is both rich and frustrating

These five years have been contrasting for the young midfielderwho has not been spared from injuries, particularly in recent seasons.

During my time at Stade Rennais, I was injured a lot. I’ve had meniscus surgery three times in the last three seasons.

However, despite long periods of absence, the young man learned a lot during his time in Rennes, which is today considered to be the best French training center (Editor’s note: title awarded in August 2024 by the FFF).

“In the training center, lifestyle is very important. In addition, all work outside of football is essential, whether it is indoor work or more specific work. On the football side, we are getting a huge head start tactically and technically thanks to the volume of sessions we have each week. »

Even if Brieuc was not able to fully express himself on the pitch, he has very good memories of his years in the training center, in particular thanks to the bonds he formed with his teammates, very talented players whom he had the chance to meet.

When I was in the youth categories, I was able to train with Désiré Doué and also Mathis Lambourde. I also worked with Lorenz Assignon in the training center.

Players who play professionally today at PSG, in Verona or at Stade Rennais.

A professional world that the young man was able to touch with his fingertips by training with the group of Julien Stéphanbefore a match against , a few weeks before his departure.

“Relaunch myself and regain confidence in myself”

Finally, it was the club he left five years ago that the former Rennais joined this summer to relaunch after several complicated seasons.

His will is clear: “ Find rhythm to assert yourself in an ambitious club.” However, the new recruit of the Sang et Or remains lucid and does not seem frustrated by the little playing time granted by Laurent Hervé for the moment: “For the moment, I am satisfied with my role. It’s up to me to prove myself during matches with the reserve team so that I can then show my abilities and my talent. »

Abilities that the Torcean will unfortunately not be able to highlight immediately, since he risks being removed from the field until the end of the calendar year due to a new meniscus injury.

In the meantime, his teammates from group N3 will be on the field on Saturday to try to recover after a cruel defeat 4-3 two weeks ago against Saint-Philibert.

The Sang et Or will find their audience in the championship to face Fontenay Vendée in a top-of-the-table duel.

Saturday October 5, AS Vitré – Fontenay Vendée. Kick-off at 6 p.m. at the Vitré municipal stadium.
