Mercato: The sea serpent Salah resurfaces at PSG

Regularly announced at PSG since 2021, Mohamed Salah is still in the Parisian sights according to the English press, while his contract expires in June 2025 at Liverpool.

The information may be surprising at first glance, at a time when PSG is communicating its desire to build a younger collective devoid of stars. According to the English tabloid The Sun, which speculated a few days ago on Parisian interest in Marseillais Mason Greenwood, PSG still appreciates Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, who is having a great start to the season with Liverpool, despite the departure of Jürgen Klopp with whom he was close.

In 9 matches played under the orders of Dutchman Arne Slot, Salah has already scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists this season. The left-hander notably scored a gem this Wednesday against Bologna in the Champions League, confirming that he was still one of the best players in the world at the age of 32.

Announced close to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023, Salah ultimately remained with the Reds, but will be free in the summer of 2025, unless he extends his contract with the English club before then. At the beginning of September, Salah told Sky Sports that no one at Liverpool had spoken to him about a new contract at the moment.

PSG ready to offer three years of contract to Salah?

According to the Sun, Salah is not tempted by a departure to Saudi Arabia next summer and PSG intends to take advantage of the Reds’ wait-and-see attitude to try to convince the Egyptian and offer him a three-year contract. World star, could Mohamed Salah become the new head of PSG next summer?

If he is a player who attacks, scores goals and makes assists, Salah is also a formidable team player and a striker who does not hesitate to defend. On paper, it therefore does not seem incompatible with Luis Enrique’s playing philosophy, but we will have to wait for other more serious sources to start planning for Salah’s arrival at PSG. Between now and next summer, a lot can happen.
