Debts and late payments, Olympique Lyonnais facing instability

L’Olympique Lyonnaisstruggling on the field, faces major problems behind the scenes under the management of John Textorowner of the Eagle Football Group. Revelations about the club’s financial difficulties have highlighted accumulated debts, particularly to local suppliers, thus aggravating an already complex situation for one of ’s largest clubs.

Debts worrying for OL

On September 23, Eagle Football Group admitted “ cash flow difficulties » having affected the financial management of the club. Daily life Progress detailed these concerns, revealing debts reaching up to 20 million euros. These receivables concern various sectors linked to the organization and management of the club, such as food, security, spectator reception, as well as the maintenance of infrastructure and the shows organized at Groupama Stadium.

The suppliers affected are largely located in the Rhone region, which increases local pressure on the club. The non-payment of certain invoices has repercussions on the local economy, with businesses depending on the financial health of the club to maintain their own activity.

John Textor’s management under fire

Since the acquisition of Olympique Lyonnais by the Eagle Football Group, John Textor’s management has been increasingly criticized. While the initial ambitions were to strengthen the club and allow it to return to titles, the reality seems very different. The financial difficulties, coupled with disappointing sporting results, have caused a certain frustration among the club’s supporters and partners.

Textor had, however, promised to turn around OL and enable it to once again become a major player in European football. However, poor financial management and the inability to honor certain financial commitments began to weigh heavily on the club’s image.
