The end of DAZN is near

While DAZN hoped to reach a significant number of subscribers for its first year, the reality of the figures seems very different.

Throughout the summer, the war for rights raged. In the end, it was DAZN and beIN Sports who won the confrontation. However, this decision did not please many Ligue 1 fans. In recent months, the use of illegal streaming to watch Ligue 1 has only increasedmaking the management of the LFP and DAZN furious. To combat this phenomenon, the German channel, alongside the leaders of the French League, has put in place numerous ramparts. In addition, to encourage supporters of League of Talents clubs, DAZN offered Ligue 1 free for two weeks. But despite these efforts, it always seems complicated to find subscribers.

From the start, DAZN’s communication has been poor, and Ligue 1 fans found the price of subscriptions scandalous. Despite the numerous reductions, according to rumors, DAZN is not making it. A disappearance within two years could be probable if there are no outside investors. Indeed, journalist Abdellah Boulma affirms on the broadcaster only has 100,000 subscribers in and could disappear within two years without external investment or a significant increase in its subscribers.

The end of DAZN?

From the beginning, DAZN’s journey has been strewn with pitfalls. The price of subscriptions and communication have done nothing to attract Ligue 1 fans. With so few subscriptions, thefuture of DAZN within our championship seems compromised. For comparison, Mediapro had abandoned the broadcast of Ligue 1 then that he had 400,000 subscribers.
