French Cup. Biarritz qualified, Arcachon eliminated?

Large winner at JA Biarritz on Saturday (4-1), C Bassin d’Arcachon should not see the fifth round of the French Cup.

Saturday evening, Florian Duval completed the great victory of FC Bassin d’Arcachon in Biarritz (4-1) in the fourth round of the Coupe de France with a goal at the very end of the match (90′). But small problem: it was not listed on the match sheet! It was in fact his brother Nicolas – usually goalkeeper for team C – who was listed on the computerized match sheet.

JA Biarritz realized this. A request for referral to the competent committee was made by the Pyrénées-Atlantiques club within the framework of article 187 of the general regulations of the FFF. This in fact indicates that in the event of “participation of a player not listed on the match sheet […] the sanction is the match lost by penalty ». It is the disputes and litigation commission of the Ligue de Nouvelle-Aquitaine which will have to decide.

Even if the entry error on the FMI can be pleaded, with two players following each other in the list of names, it is very likely that FC Bassin d’Arcachon will not see the fifth round of the French Cup!
