Transfer window, Barça has found Robert Lewandowski’s successor

Barça are already thinking about the post-Lewandowski era and have even found a replacement for the Pole.

The summer transfer window is definitely closed in Europe and especially in Spain. However, some clubs are already getting active in view of the next transfer windows. This is the case of Barça which had a fairly quiet transfer window this summer, but which is already planning on a possible departure of Robert Lewandowski. The Blaugrana club has even already identified the player who should succeed the Polish international on the front of its attack.

Barca looking for Lewandowski replacement

Barça have had a near-perfect start to the season. Apart from the defeat against AS Monaco in the Champions League last Thursday (2-1), the club has had a perfect run in La Liga. Before facing Villarreal this Sunday (6:30 p.m.), Barça (1er15pts) is on a five-game winning streak in the Spanish league this season.

A flattering record that Barça owes not only to Lamine Yamal (3 goals, 4 assists in La Liga) but also to Robert Lewandowski, author of 4 goals in 5 La Liga games. However, Barça is not immune to a possible departure of the former Bayern Munich striker during the next transfer windows. Which has pushed the club to already start targeting his successor.

Erling Haaland to succeed Robert Lewandowski?

Barça could have lost Robert Lewandowski during the summer transfer window. But the Pole rejected offers from Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed his desire to see his contract expire in June 2026. A deadline that FC Barcelona did not wait for before starting to look for a successor, according to information from SPORT.

According to the Catalan media, Barça would have its sights set on Erling Haaland who could be forced to leave Manchester City due to the trial of the century. The English club could notably find itself suspended from all European competitions. But the Norwegian international would not be Barça’s only target to succeed Robert Lewandowski. SPORT indicates that the Catalan club would have also checked the names of Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon) and Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig). However, Barça will only enlist one of the three attackers.
