David Le Moal’s U17s have had a sluggish start to the season. With two wins against Grenoble (3-0) and ASPTT Marseille (4-2), a draw (0-0) in Nice and a defeat (0-4) against Olympique Lyonnais, the results are mixed for ASSE. Beyond the results, the performances are irregular and require consistency. For this fifth league match, Noah Moulin’s teammates traveled to Nîmes. A look back at the match thanks to the live coverage of the square posts.

Match summary
Realistic
In Nîmes, the two teams first offered each other a round of observation. While Maël Masse showed great inspiration in this first act, ASSE struggled to be dangerous. Finally, it was thanks to a deflected shot from Rayan Ait Amer that the Saint-Etienne players opened the scoring. 1-0 after half an hour of play, that was also the score when the two teams returned to the locker rooms for half-time. With the advantage in the score, they now had to be strong to bring home a positive result!
Collective shipwreck
The second started very badly since the Greens conceded a penalty… which Maël Masse pushed away!
While the Saint-Etienne goalkeeper pushed back the deadline, the locals would equalize in the process on a scramble. They would score five minutes later on a second penalty before conceding a third goal. In 10 short minutes, the match had completely changed in appearance. Once again the match escaped the U17s who logically lost. Moreover, without a great Maël Masse, the bill would certainly have been saltier! Yvars reduced the score at the very end of the match, defeat 3-2.
The U17s will host the bottom of the table next week. JS Ajaccio Saturday at 4pm. Recently promoted, the Corsican team is having a difficult start to the season with a goal average of -15 after only three games. Indeed, they did not play last weekend against Nice.
