Christophe Dugarry: “There are supporters who are starting to get a bit fed up, who are being taken for cash cows and it’s starting to get complicated”

In Rothen gets excited on RMC, Christophe Dugarryformer player of Girondins of and consultant, spoke about today’s football. The topic was:

Modern football accused of slowly dying.

“We talk about the players but we also talk about the fans. I think that even people are fed up with football which is also becoming more and more expensive. There are so many matches on TV, it is becoming more and more expensive. The Euro, people got more and more bored watching football matches. National football is becoming more and more boring too. So there are the fans who are starting to get a bit fed up, who are taken for cash cows and it is starting to be complicated.”

He also came back, with Michel Platinion the fact that certain players of the French team had taken a position during the second round of the legislative elections in .

“It’s certain that during a gathering of the French Team, the whole nation is behind its national team. So you’re there to bring together all your supporters, all your players. We’re all behind a flag, behind a goal. From the moment you make a decision like that, political, you divide the nation, you divide your team. Well, that’s not really the case because I think it was pretty unanimous with regard to the players, but you divide the nation a little. That’s not the role of the French Team players. Their role is to bring the French together, so it’s certain that it poses a problem at that moment.”
