Paulo Fonseca (ex-LOSC) is already in the hot seat at AC Milan

Appointed this summer on the bench of AC Milan, following his departure from LOSC, Paulo Fonseca already finds himself in an uncomfortable position. The Italian press affirms that he is more than ever in the hot seat.

The changes on the benches could well continue in Italy, where Daniele De Rossi was recently sacked from AS Roma. The entire Italian press (Gazzetta dello Sport, Tuttosport, La Repubblica…) is in any case unanimous: Paulo Fonseca could be living his last weekend at the helm of AC Milan. Struggling in Serie A, a national scene in which his team has only collected five points from its first four games and is in tenth place, the Portuguese has seen his position weakened by the recent defeat conceded to Liverpool (3-1) in the Champions League. Some media outlets are talking about an assured departure in the event of a setback against Inter Milan this Sunday, in the Derby della Madonnina, while others are considering an even earlier dismissal, even before this next meeting. What is certain is that the pressure is high on the former LOSC coach, whose free departure was recorded during the month of June by the team.

The names of potential replacements being studied by AC Milan are already making the rounds on the web and in the media. The priority would be Maurizio Sarri, former coach of Napoli, Juventus and Chelsea, but he would not be alone in the effort. The names of Massimiliano Allegri, Thomas Tuchel, Igor Tudor and Edin Terzic have also been mentioned insistently in recent hours.
