“A bit like the French Liverpool”
“At Saint-Étienne, the relationship with the supporters was unique: we knew them, we met them regularly. This book is dedicated to them, but not only. When we write a book, we want it to touch all generations. Through my book signing tour, I was able to interact with readers of all ages, and it's always a pleasure. »
-“Saint-Étienne, at the time, benefited from immense popular sympathy. All of France was behind us. Everywhere we played, there were fans who were vibrating with us. It was a unique time. The club embodied popular values, close to the working class, a bit like French Liverpool in terms of spirit and play. A successful team always relies on a collective. In Saint-Étienne, we grew up together, we shared years of solidarity, and that was what made us strong. »
