Gambardella Cup
This Sunday, the young Aiglons traveled to Nîmes for the 32nd finals of the Gambardella Cup. They validated their qualification thanks to a goal from Amidou Doumbouya in the last quarter of an hour (final score 2-1).
Against the Crocos, the difference came from a regular in the pro group, while the locals and the Niçois were back to back at the dawn of the final straight of the match. A moment chosen by Amidou Doumbouya to emerge and make a definitive difference (2-1, 75′).
Previously, the Gym opened the scoring very early, thanks to a goal from Yassine Aïche (0-1, 5′), before being caught in the 65′.
After having pushed AC Ajaccio (1-0) and Nîmes Olympique (2-1) out of their way, Julien Sablé’s players will compete in the round of 16 of a prestigious competition on February 2.
They will know the identity of their opponent this Thursday.
