Arriving at AS Saint-Étienne in 2018 from FC , Yanis Lhery seemed to have a bright future. Regularly outclassed in youth teams, the 21-year-old striker has long been seen as a hope for the Saint-Etienne club. However, his rise was hampered by repeated injuries, preventing him from establishing himself sustainably within the first team. Last season, the leaders tried to revive his progress by loaning him to Progrès Niederkorn in Luxembourg. But this experience was not conclusive: Lhery only scored one goal and provided one assist in eleven appearances.

Sidelined this season

Back in Forez this summer, Yanis Lhery failed to convince the staff to give him a place in the professional squad. With only five appearances in reserve this season, the striker was no longer part of ASSE’s plans. Despite a few appearances in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 in the past, the young player seemed to have reached the end of his cycle with the Greens.

Headed to Spain to relaunch his career

According to information from Top Marketconfirmed by several sources, Yanis Lhery is preparing to join the Spanish club Alcorcón, playing in the third division. To facilitate his departure, AS Saint-Étienne decided to release the player from his contract which expired in June 2024, thus receiving no transfer compensation. This new challenge in Spain could offer Lhery the opportunity to relaunch his career in an environment more favorable to his development.

Supporter of En Avant de Guingamp, the best of the Breton clubs, I prefer to meet Yannis Salibur, Cristophe Kerbrat or Jeremy Sorbon rather than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Sergio Ramos.
