A successful match against Reims
Were we surprised? Yes and no, because we knew that we had worked very well on this first week with the technical staff. Above all, we were delighted that it worked so well, even if at times we were not the best on the pitch. We responded well even in these more difficult times. We were delighted in the locker room and I’m sure the technical staff were as happy as we were.
Intensity as a key word
It’s up to us to ensure that the teams facing us have less time to put us in difficulty. (…) It’s a different style, especially for me, who constantly stays in the middle and adapts to the coach’s instructions. The coach’s voice carries across the field. He puts a lot of intensity into his words and his movements. We have to transcribe that on the pitch.
Paris
PSG is different, there are eleven internationals on the field. We go there with good intentions and the desire not to change our ideas too much. If I’m not ready to do as well as against Reims, or better, I might as well stay at home. We must leave with the same intentions and not tell ourselves that we are going there to suffer. We will try to annoy them as much as possible and for as long as possible by applying the coach’s instructions. PSG is still strong. They have lost some big names, some very good players lately, but they are still flying high in L1. Playing against them is different.
A need for trust
Those were the coach’s first words upon his arrival: to say that we are capable, that we have the level to do what he asks of us. We must not stress about the difficulty, because playing in Saint-Étienne puts weight on our shoulders, especially having gone through bad times. He arrives with his ideas and his speech. He has believed in us since his arrival.
