If ASSE has relaunched in Ligue 1, the Greens have still not activated their transfer window. No departure. No arrivals. However, managers continue their prospecting and could reactivate an old lead. Explanations.
ASSE's main project concerns the restructuring of its defense. Only Mickaël Nadé has a contract extending beyond 2026. The leaders must therefore rebuild the rearguard for the years to come, including on the sides, where Dennis Appiah, Léo Pétrot and Yvann Maçon are reaching the end of their contract in next June.
If Pierre Cornud joined Forez last summer, another avenue had been explored. We revealed to you exclusively at the time the Greens' interest in Amin Cherni. This left-hander, currently at Stade Lavallois, had been particularly followed by ASSE.
Cherni at ASSE?
A real revelation of the last Ligue 2 season, the 23-year-old Tunisian finds himself in a contractual situation which could facilitate his transfer. At the end of his contract in June 2026, Amin Cherni could leave Mayenne in the coming weeks. According to information from local media Oxygen RadioASSE would once again be in the ranks of the Tunisian international.
Who is Amin Cherni?
Trained at Paris FC, Cherni passed through Paris 13 and Chambly before settling down in Laval last summer. A winning bet for Tangos! Perfectly integrated into Olivier Frapolli's 3-5-2 system, this young left-hander is fully contributing to Laval's great season.
Fast and blessed with excellent technique, Amin Cherni stands out for his qualities as a centerer. He also scored 5 goals in 37 Ligue 2 matches (including 35 as a starter) last season. He is going through a more complicated first part of the season this year. Joining the elite would be a great opportunity for this player who has not yet exploited his full potential. A path to follow closely for the Greens.
