The measures taken by the DNCG, which notably pronounced a precautionary relegation against OL, are of great concern to Jean-Michel Aulas, who expressed his concern in an interview.
Vice-president of the French Football Federation, Jean-Michel Aulas remains very attentive to what is happening in his former club. The former boss of Olympique Lyonnais did not miss the sanctions imposed by the DNCG, which notably relegated the Rhone club as a precautionary measure, in addition to pronouncing a recruitment ban during the month of January. John Textor assures him, the situation is well in hand and several inflows of money within the Eagle group will allow Olympique Lyonnais to recover the funds required by the DNCG, in addition to certain sales of players during this month of January.
But in an interview given to the media Carré on YouTube, Jean-Michel Aulas did not hide his concern. “Yes, I’m afraid for the future of OL. From the moment the DNCG has all the powers, and is focused on an economic vision of the OL entity and not the group entity as John Textor would like, this will force it to redirect a certain number of resources towards OL and obviously we must not take the decisions of the DNCG lightly” confides the historic former president of Olympique Lyonnais, who must sometimes wonder if he made the right choice in selling his club to John Textor. He also questioned this point during the interview given to the media Carré.
-Aulas “sometimes” regrets having sold OL to Textor
“I sometimes regret selling, of course. I was the main shareholder but I was not in the majority. I had less than 50%. The two other shareholders, Jérôme Seydoux and IDG, Chinese shareholder, who did not particularly like each other, banded together against me after covid because they needed to sell. I couldn't resist” regrets Jean-Michel Aulas, who would have liked to continue at the head of OL but who did not have the possibility of refusing John Textor's offer on a financial level. As a result, Olympique Lyonnais is now in the hands of the American businessman and there are many doubts surrounding the future of Les Gones on a financial level with this terrible sword of Damocles hanging over their heads.
