The Stade Bollaert-Delelis experienced an electric atmosphere this Sunday, with 38,182 spectators massed to attend the Coupe de France match between the RC Lens au Paris SG. Among them, around 1000 Parisians made the trip. This record attendance confirms the fervor of Lensois supporters, with average of 37,803 spectators in Ligue 1 this season in the legendary venue.
A moving tribute to Jimmy Cabot
Beyond the sporting issue, this meeting took on a particular dimension with the tribute paid to Jimmy Cabot. The emblematic RC Lens player had to announce the end of his career at the start of the week following a knee injury. Before kick-off, his former teammates warmly surrounded him, allowing Cabot to take the mock kickoff to the cheers of the crowd. An emotional moment to greet Cabot.
Supporter engagement beyond the pitch
THE Red Tigersan emblematic group of Sang et Or supporters, also took advantage of this poster to highlight their charitable action. They unfurled a tarpaulin saluting “the many contributors to Children’s Christmas”an operation which made it possible to distribute 1,700 gifts to children hospitalized in the region. A symbolic gesture recalling the importance of the link between the club and its territory.

This Coupe de France meeting is part of an exceptional season in terms of attendance for the RC Lens. Whether in Ligue 1, with peaks at 38,223 spectators against Lille and Marseille, in the Coupe de France against PSG, or in the European Cup against Panathinaikos, the Bollaert Stadium sells out match after match.
