In the sights of John Textor, who wanted to recruit him for Botafogo and OL, Brazilian striker John Kennedy (Fluminense) will finally head to Mexico.
In recent weeks, there has been talk of Eagle Group's interest in John Kennedy. Small, fast and technical, he excels as a second attacker, responsible for taking the depth alongside a stronger partner. But Fluminense, which narrowly escaped relegation, needs to sell its nuggets to replenish its coffers. John Textor had sensed the right move. For a little more than €5 million (his rating on Transfermarkt), he could have strengthened Botafogo firstly, and OL secondly.

But a Mexican club was quicker than Eagle Group. This club is Pachuca. Champion of North America, he played in the Intercontinental Cup against Real Madrid (0-3) last Wednesday. According to the Mexican press, Pachuca will be loaned Kennedy with a compulsory purchase option. One more regret for John Textor, who could therefore have attracted the Brazilian to one of his clubs at a lower cost…
