RC Lens is working behind the scenes to strengthen its offensive sector as the winter transfer window approaches. Faced with recurring difficulties in front of goal, the Sang et Or have set their sights on Loum Tchaouna, a young Franco-Chadian striker currently playing at Lazio Rome.
A talent in search of a rebound
Trained at Stade Rennais, Loum Tchaouna joined Lazio during the last summer transfer window for 10 million euros after an encouraging season at Salernitana. However, the young player struggled to find his place in the Roman squad, where he made do with a few appearances. With only six matches played and one goal scored since his arrival, Tchaouna aspires to more playing time, which Lens could offer him.
An opportunity for both parties
Under contract with Lazio until 2029 and valued at around 8 million euros, the striker presents an interesting option for Lens, who are looking for a profile capable of boosting their attack. RC Lens will, however, have to face competition. In Italy, Atalanta Bergamo is also monitoring the player, while in England, Brighton is following his development carefully. It remains to be seen whether the Lensois leaders will manage to convince the player and his club. One thing is certain, an offensive reinforcement of this caliber would be a strategic move for the Sang et Or in the race to achieve their objectives for the season.
