While Barça has to deal with the problems of Ansu Fati, who now seems far from the very high level player that the football world was waiting for, Real Madrid seems to have decided to try for another Fati. According to Relevo, Real Madrid are about to complete the recruitment of Lamini Fati, an 18-year-old left-handed central defender playing with the Leganés reserve team.
Lamini Fati, defender of the future?
Spotted during a friendly match this summer between Leganés B and Real Madrid C at Valdebebas, Fati had already attracted interest from Valencia in June, but remained at Leganés. Currently injured in the jaw, his arrival could materialize as early as this winter transfer window. The difficult situation at La Fábrica, marked by numerous injuries and mediocre results, pushed Real to strengthen its squad to avoid the relegation of its subsidiary teams.
Fati, described as a player who has a solid wingspan, remarkable defensive quality and a capacity for anticipation, is considered an ideal reinforcement. Although he is still the age of a junior player, he is already an indisputable starter with Leganés B and could play for Real Madrid C, or even Castilla. Coming from a family of Angolan and Guinea-Bissau origin, Fati lives in the Madrid district of Hortaleza. This transfer would mark the start of Real Madrid's winter strengthening plan for its youth teams. Other recruitments and a possible change of coach for Real Madrid C could follow.
