Zidane at Real, it's confirmed!

While Carlo Ancelotti is increasingly in the hot seat, Zinedine Zidane appears on the short list of Madrid leaders to replace the Italian technician.

Real Madrid are definitely struggling to confirm. While they had undoubtedly delivered their best performance since the start of the season, Tuesday, on the pitch of Atalanta Bergamo, the Merengue were unable to confirm in the derby against Rayo Vallecano. Weighed down by a failed start to the match, Carlo Ancelotti's players ultimately had to settle for a draw (3-3).

This new poor performance inevitably weakens Carlo Ancelotti, who has been singled out since the start of the season. The former midfielder is in the hot seat and his departure seems set for next summer, despite a contract that runs until 2026. According to the Madrid press, Florentino Perez has already started looking for of his successor.

Zinedine Zidane is not the priority

Several names have been mentioned in recent weeks. And according to Cadena Ser, the name of Zinedine Zidane is indeed on the Madrid president's short list. Free from any contract since his departure from the Madrid club in the spring of 2021, the former Blues playmaker will not however be easy to convince since if he is attached to Real Madrid, his priority is to take over from Didier Deschamps on the bench of the team at the end of the 2026 World Cup.

Still according to Madrid radio, Zinedine Zidane is however not the priority of Madrid leaders since Florentino Perez would have made Xabi Alonso their main target. Two other former members of the house would also be on the cards of the Merengue president: Raul and Santiago Solari.
