A serious accident occurred this Friday morning on the Spotify Camp Nou construction site, according to the Culemania media relayed by AS. A worker was hit by a vehicle near the stadium during his working hours. Quickly treated, he was transported by ambulance in serious condition. However, his life is not in danger. Several vehicles from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Guardia Urbana and two ambulances were mobilized to assist him and collect testimonies.
Not the first incident on the construction site
This incident comes as Barça presented its sustainable mobility plan with a view to returning to the stadium, scheduled for February 2025, although the date remains uncertain. This is not the first problem on this site supervised by the Turkish company Limak. Last October, a fight between Albanian and Romanian workers left several injured, leading to the expulsion of some of them. Furthermore, another worker was hospitalized following an accident linked to handling a pulley.
Faced with the urgency for FC Barcelona to return to its stadium, Limak is accelerating the work, initially scheduled for mid-February 2025, although a delay is possible. The club appears ready to waive penalties if deadlines are missed.
