Perhaps OL's best player since the start of the season, Corentin Tolisso is returning to his former level. Enough to allow him to find the French team? Pierre Sage spoke about the success of his community.
Pierre Sage, what is your view on Corentin Tolisso at the end of the year? How has he progressed since the start of the season?
Sage: In fact, it is the sequence of performances which influences both the quality of what he does, his confidence, the initiatives he will take. You saw, he scored an extraordinary goal Karabagh. Oddly, in the following match, he again tried a long shot which was on the verge of hitting the mark. So that's good, it gives him an extra weapon, an extra weapon for the team. I think that the virtuous circle will bring it back to its highest potential, or even continue to develop it. He is a player who is used to working a lot and not resting on what has been done well. He goes looking for things.
This year, he showed his ambition internally, he demonstrated it today. He confirms it from match to match because it's good to be good after three matches, but it's even better after 10 matches. Since the start of the season, he has been good and I think he still has good times ahead of him, some very close and perhaps some distant.
“Les Bleus? At one point or another, the opportunity will come”
Do you think he deserves to be called up to the Blues?
I think he's applying. Today, there are other players who are called up and who were part of previous selections, but if we look a little further in the rearview mirror, he was also part of those squads. Today, I think that if he continues at some point, the opportunity will come.
What is the part of his personal work, the work of the staff, yours in this increase in confidence and awareness?
In this scenario, only he is responsible for what happens to him. He is 100% what he chooses to do, so all the credit goes to him.
