Bad news for Nice supporters! The sports director Florian Maurice has just denied a possible arrival of Paul Pogba at OGC Nice.
OGC Nice Mercato: Florian Maurice sets things straight for Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba's future continues to be the subject of much speculation. Since the termination of his contract with Juventus, the French international has been courted by many clubs. If Olympique de Marseille is presented as the favorite candidate to host it, another League club was also cited among these suitors: OGC Nice.
Looking for reinforcements in the midfield, the Aiglons are reportedly considering recruiting the 2018 world champion. Information quickly denied by Florian Maurice. The sporting director of the Riviera club dampened the hopes of Nice supporters. Questioned by L'Équipe du Soir, he clearly indicated that OGC Nice was not able to afford the services of Paul Pogba.
“I don't think we have the possibility of bringing Paul to Nice, I think there are a lot of clubs who will look into it even if it's been a long time since he last played. There will be enormous competition, we will not be able to fight”he declared.
The Nice leader recognized the qualities of the French player but underlined the difficulty of completing such a transfer. “I don’t think we have the possibility of attracting him to Nice”he added. This exit from Florian Maurice therefore puts an end to rumors concerning a possible transfer of Paul Pogba to OGC Nice. The French midfielder should therefore turn to other destinations.
