In six matches, France has only two victories on the European scene this week. A weekly report which reduces the gap with the Netherlands in the UEFA index ranking.
France had its worst European week since the start of this 2024/2025 season. Indeed, in six matches, only two ended in a victory for the French clubs: the
LOSC facing Bologna (1-2- in
Champions Leagueand theOL
(1-4) facing Karabagh in Europa
League. The direct consequence to the ranking of the index
UEFA is the reduction in the gap between France and the Netherlands, in fifth and sixth place respectively. The French clubs now have 63,807 points and + 0.571 this week, while the Dutch now have 59,233, with + 0.667 this week, thanks in particular to the success of
PSV Eindhoven against the Shakhtar Donetsk (3-2) and the draw of
Feyenoord facing Manchester City
(3-3). Portugal, in seventh place, has 56,491, and continues to progress. The ranking remains dominated by England, Italy and Spain for the first three places. Germany, at the foot of the podium, is more than ten points ahead of France.
As a reminder, the importance of preserving its fifth place for France lies in obtaining three qualifying places in
Champions League + one in the jump-off. If the Netherlands were to seize this fifth place during the season, the French clubs would only be entitled to two direct places in C1 + one in the jump-off.
