Yunis Abdelhamid: from doubt to rebirth
The ASSE captain was whistled by the Saint-Etienne supporters during the reception of RC Lens because of his missed match against OGC Nice, but he overcame this ordeal thanks to his strength of character. Even as a substitute, he brought his experience and advice to the group.
“In football, we all go through difficult times, but it’s how you bounce back that counts. Yunis showed great character. We are not surprised to see him get up. He has great mental strength, which is to his credit.”testified the 28-year-old center back.
The Moroccan, captain of Saint-Etienne at heart!
Against the MHSC, the former Rémois had not recovered the armband, worn by Gautier Larsonneur. But this posed no problem within the ASSE locker room.
“The fact that he’s no longer captain doesn’t change anything. He's the one who speaks in the locker room. He is a natural leader, with or without an armband. He brought us all his experience. Even on the bench, he remains a captain at heart”explained Dylan Batubinsika.
