In the podcast Debriefers on ForEver, Julien Bée and the debriefers discuss together the season of
Girondins de Bordeaux who find themselves in
National 2. The journalist returned to the 1-1 draw against Saint-Malo, leader of the championship.
« I found that in the first half, we clearly had the best team we could face in National 2 in front of us. For me, it was the team that showed me the most things. Obviously, not over the 90 minutes, but in any case over the first half. I said to myself 'ok, I understand why these Saint-Malo players are first'. There was a pretty good block. There was a midfield with a density that was much greater than ours, which put us in difficulty in the first half. So I understand why they are leaders. Afterwards, they crumbled a little, it’s true. But contrary to what I read after the match, it's true that we have a matrix, we often forget it, Ligue 1 – Ligue 2 for us, so we tend to be a little harsh with it too. the Bordeaux teams but also with the opponents. It's true that this team is not huge, it's a National 2 team, so it didn't make us dream but that's normal. It's a National 2 team. So we also have to be careful in this judgment. I read 'They don't make you dream, we should have beaten them'… For me, this Saint-Malo team is still the best team we have met since the start of the season. On the way he prepared for this match, on his midfielder, etc… We must remain humble in the face of this team which, casually, has not yet lost this season. »
