Last night, Kylian Mbappé experienced another nightmarish evening at Anfield during Real Madrid's defeat against Liverpool (2-0). In addition to not having any impact offensively, the French international even missed a penalty which would have allowed his team to come back to level with the Reds. A performance which does not fail to make the front pages of the Spanish newspapers. On the set of El Chiringuito, Guti did not hide his incomprehension: “I think Mbappé was not up to the task, obviously. This is reality” he initially lamented.
Guti would like to know what happens to Mbappé!
Despite everything, the former Madrid midfielder does not want to overwhelm the Frenchman: “We would all like to know what happens to Mbappé. He looks lacking in confidence, shy… A few moments before taking the penalty, he looked as if he was afraid… In this sense, he is surely not satisfied with his performance and wants to do more . Mbappé has now arrived in another team where he will surely have to compete with great players to be the best, and all that weighs. And the Real Madrid jersey weighs… and that's normal. It's hard to think that a player acclimatizes so quickly and so early at a club like Real Madrid, where it's very difficult to play.“
Finally, he thinks that putting him on the bench would be anything but a cure: “Removing it would be the worst medicine, but we must protect it. And for that, he is in the best club. Florentino Pérez, the institution and Ancelotti will protect him because we all believe in him. The easiest thing is to criticize and say that he's not worth it… but Mbappé is one of the best players in the world.“
