Florent Sanchez, OL midfielder (credit: David Hernandez)
Laid off in recent weeks by OL, Florent Sanchez could well get back on track with Orléans. The midfielder received a call from Hervé Della Maggiore, whom he worked with in Villefranche.
A fallen hope. Like many players who passed through the OL training center, Florent Sanchez failed to confirm the expectations placed on him during his youth at the Academy. He certainly had the chance to evolve with the professional group, but never knew how to seize his chance. Loaned successively to Villefranche, Volendam et Molenbeek last season, the midfielder failed to convert the try and was placed in the summer loft by Pierre Sage and the Lyon management. A way out could have been found with Troyes at the end of the transfer window, but an administrative imbroglio called this free arrival into question. Remaining at OL, Sanchez therefore started the season in the reserves before being laid off like Chaïm The Djebali by the club in recent weeks, as revealed by Olympique-et-Lyonnais.
Reunion with Della Maggiore?
The reason still remains a well-kept secret by the club, but Florent Sanchez has been released and is now looking for a new challenge. This one could well be on the side of Orléans in National. Indeed, Hervé Della Maggiore, who was his trainer Villefranche for six months, admitted this Thursday to being in contact with his former player. “He was thinking of calling me, for his part. It’s an opportunity for us, and for him”declared the coach in comments reported by The Central Republic. The National, championship in which Florent Sanchez distinguished himself with the FCVB three years ago now.
