Sanctioned by the DNCG, John Textor strongly contests the accusations of the financial policeman of the LFP. The president of the financial body responded bluntly to the arguments of the boss of theOL et Eagle Football Group.
OL heavily sanctioned: John Textor does not understand the DNCG's decision!
The Professional Club Control Commission imposed heavy sanctions on OL on November 15. At issue: a financial situation considered worrying. The management of the wage bill, the ban on recruiting and the threat of demotion at the end of the season have been decided.
These measures aim to sanction the management of John Textorowner of Olympique Lyonnais. However, the American claims to have presented a solid financial plan during the hearing. He does not understand the reasons for such sanctions.
Jean-Marc Mickeler: “The DNCG demands concrete financial guarantees from John Textor”
Jean-Marc Mickelerpresident of the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), provided clarifications. According to him, although the DNCG listened carefully to John Textor's explanations, it remains skeptical as to the feasibility of his projects. The latter are in fact based on future operations, such as the IPO of Eagle Group in the United States, the sale of Crystal Palace or even transfers of players.
“The role of the DNCG is to be prudent and to request concrete guarantees for operations which have not yet been carried out”explained Mickeler in The Team. Thus, the DNCG requires tangible proof, such as bank guarantees or equity, to cover the risks linked to John Textor's projects.
This sanction constitutes a warning for the moment. The OL boss must now act quickly to improve his financial situation and avoid administrative demotion. The next few weeks will therefore be crucial for the future of the Lyon club.
