An enriching experience in

Mouton expressed his gratitude for his time at Pauwhere he was warmly welcomed despite his arrival during the season. “In Pau? On a human level, I met, beyond the players, a staff and a truly incredible coach. They directly put me at ease.” This experience allowed him to make himself known without the prejudices linked to his past in Saint-Étienne. “There, no one knew me. And in Saint-Etienne, they knew me as a young person, I had faults, I had qualities. All that is evolving, in fact.”

A valuable mentor in the person of Saivet

Mouton particularly appreciated the support of Henri Saivetwhich he considers to be a “big brother”. Thanks to his encouragement, the young midfielder was able to progress on a human and sporting level. “Henri Saivet? He was really like a big brother to me. We still write to each other a lot. He pushed me. I really had a lot of fun there, and I progressed. Humanly, I I progressed as a man, it also made me progress.”

An uncertain future in Saint-Étienne

Despite its current good performance, Mouton's future at ASSE remains unclear. At the end of the contract in June, the player remains open to all possibilities. “At the end of the contract in June? In football, everything goes so quickly… We don't know. For the moment, things are going pretty well for me. Now, the club has its project. We, the players , we're here to perform at the weekend. I don't know what's next for me. If it's here, so much the better. If it's somewhere else, it'll be like that. % for the club I will be part of.”
