Questioned at length at a press conference this Friday, Bruno Genesio underlined the importance of returning from injury (Haraldsson, Meunier, Touré) through three axes, in addition to individual qualities.
The previous weeks were not the best for Bruno Genesio who, forced not to forget his reminder at each appearance in front of the press, listed meeting after meeting the numerous absences to deplore on the LOSC side. Everything was simpler this Friday, and the smile was there. Thanks to the time offered by the international break, the Lille technical staff was able to record the returns of Thomas Meunier, Ousmane Touré and Hakon Haraldsson: “Hakon will be in the group. He completed all his reathletics and validated all levels. He will be with the twenty players called up this Sunday. It’s been a week now since he started training with us again”specifies the Lille technician at a press conference.
The latter also recalled, under the impetus of the curiosity of the journalists present in front of him, the qualities which make up the Icelandic's weapons: “He will bring us his technique, his volume of play and his ability to make a lot of deep runs. These are very important elements to take into account in high-level matches”explains Bruno Genesio, happy to be able to record this return. Hakon Haraldsson (21 years old) proved valuable at the start of the season, starting six times out of seven appearances (513 minutes).
In addition to its personal case, LOSC can now rely on a larger workforce which offers additional options to its technical staff, both before and during matches: “There are several things to say about this. First of all, we have more choice in our starting lineups and when we have matches every three days, it's always better to have more choice to be able to achieve them. The second point is that it leaves even more possibilities to make adjustments during the match. We see today that the contribution of players who come from the bench is more and more important, decisive.
The third point, which is the good side of the injured, is this mental freshness since they have not participated, for the most part, in the marathon of matches that we have had to go through since the start of the season. They can bring that little extra which could be important at the end of the year. »
