Expected to be a very big source of income during the events hosted, the luxurious bar at the new Santiago-Bernabeu stadium remains desperately closed due to a dispute with the company in charge of managing the venue, suspected of fraud.
It was to be one of the great prides of the new Santiago-Bernabeu. But the luxurious “Sky Bar” of the enclosure, supposed to bring in a turnover of 15 million euros annually according to projections, remains hopelessly closed. However, it had to be operational for the highly anticipated concert of American superstar Taylor Swift on May 29 and 30. But nothing went as planned due to an accumulation of rather improbable problems, Marca reported this Friday. The company in charge of managing the place, Anastia Gourmet Hostelería, did not meet opening deadlines and is said to have accumulated nearly four million euros in debts with suppliers.
Four million euros in debts to suppliers
The newspaper was first surprised by the very light references of this company with a share capital of 3,000 euros at the time of signing with Real Madrid in July 2023. Despite this, the prestige of the place quickly convinced big brands to sign up. hire to get a place in this strategic location. The beer brands Heineken, Mahou, Schweppes soda and other companies would have paid four million euros in advance to contribute to the fittings of the bar and ensure their place in distribution.
But this sum would never have been invested by the company Anastia Gourmet Hostelería. As retaliation, the brands then blocked the documentation and validations necessary for opening the location with the company, which they suspected of fraud. Faced with this impasse, Real Madrid introduced the Jerezano Garcia-Delgado group as the new manager of the place by selling 51% of Anastia Gourmet Hostelería for the modest sum of 250,000 euros. And by demanding from him the injection of six million euros within 30 days. But this new company would have played another bad trick on the club by auctioning off its stake with third parties for an amount of 20 million euros.
Furious, the Spanish club terminated the contract and prevented Anastia Gourmet Hostelería employees from accessing the bar located on the 10th floor of the venue. The Anastia group then responded by taking legal action to demand… 16 million euros from the club, accused of preventing it from operating the place. The space, which would be operational and ready to open, therefore remains closed. According to Marca, several takeover offers from solvent companies are on the table to take over Anastia. But the legal resolution of this impasse may take time and further delay the use of the Sky Bar.
