ASSE has played eleven days since the start of the season. A return to League 1 which is difficult but which is in line with the medium-term project launched by the new management. A management which is slowly settling in but which is starting to put in place some elements to develop the club. Explanations.
A rise to League 1 with a less developed staff
The club had a staff last season which was very sparse but which has the merit of having succeeded in bringing the club back into the elite of French football. Indeed, Olivier Dall'Oglio is the main coach and he is accompanied by Grégory Pérès. Jean-François Bédénik is the goalkeeper coach. He supports Gautier Larsonneur, Etienne Green and Issiaka Toure in the race to return to League 1.
Also, the club can rely on two physical trainers, Benjamin Guy and Philippe Djo Petitjean. The second comes from the world of athletics and brings a different approach to physical preparation.
On the medical front, the club has a doctor Tarak Bouzaabia, a masseur Laurent Bensadi, a dietician Mehdi Boussaid and 4 physiotherapists Hubert Largeron, Thomas Bernier, Mathieu Rachet, Pierre-Luc Guichard.
Finally, Sonny Vitulli is responsible for everything relating to video analysis (analysis of the opponent, management of set pieces, collective analysis of matches).
As manager, the club can count on Fabrice Di Natale and as team manager Fred Emile occupies the position. A role that he detailed in Progress: “Between 2000 and 2016, I was alone in the stewardship then I was joined by Fabrice Di Natale and I became team manager in 2019. For sixteen years, my job was a mix between that of steward and team manager. As football evolved, we realized that we had to be much more precise in the organization and logistics around the players.
I took care of stewardship, organizing travel, friendly matches, welcoming players… The days were very busy and we didn't necessarily do everything well. We managed to go into detail by professionalizing the service. Since 2019, I have been a team manager under the responsibility of Samuel Rustem, director of sports activities, and I have under my command a steward, Fabrice Di Natale, and two linen workers, Lydie Leblanc and Laura Bourgeois, who also clean the building. »
A growing staff at ASSE
Romain Hamouma has joined the staff of the ASSE professional group. He officially holds the position of attackers coach. Hamouma gives advice and carries out workshops with the attackers of the professional squad. Also, he has a supporting role with Olivier Dall'Oglio. Although his main assistant is Grégory Pérès, his trusted man for many seasons, Hamouma is a shoulder on which ODO leans.
Ilan left the recruitment cell. Although he is on the ground observing the professional group sessions regularly, he does not occupy a role on the professional staff. It is more focused on performance. Indeed, for some time now, the club has promoted Romain Marée within the professional group. This educator from the training center (head coach of the U14s and video analyst of the reserve group), is now attached to the professional group.
In fact, he makes video montages in order to review the performances of each player. A support which allows the former ASSE attacker to carry out his new role. Indeed, Ilan provides feedback and corrects player behavior via video via interviews. Individual interviews most often. It is therefore a pair work that the Marée-Ilan duo carries out. A new focus in the ASSE staff which relies heavily on video. The way to grow a youth squad that wants to be promising.
