According to information obtained by RMC Sportthe statue of Bernard Tapie is finished. The work of the artist Joël Vergne, which represents the “boss” and six of his former players, is only awaiting work to strengthen and develop the square to be installed in front of the Vélodrome.
As a reminder, Laurent Tapie, who created the association “A Jamais les premier”, is at the initiative of this project. More than 3,000 donors came together to finance it. “The statue is ready. I am waiting for feedback from the Town Hall regarding work to strengthen the Esplanade in front of the Stade Vélodrome, where we want to install the monument. According to the design office consulted by the City, it would be too risky, given the weight of the monument, to put it in place before this work is completed in the spring. I will therefore meet the Town Hall teams in order to establish a date for implementation and inauguration”confirmed Laurent Tapie to the media.
Laurent Tapie and his wife, Marie Griessinger Tapie, will be at the Brasserie du Vieux Port (ex-OM Café) on Tuesday to dedicate the book “TAPIE, comme Bernard”, recently published by Les Presses de la Cité.
