The Boavista club communicates on its special revitalization plan and denies certain rumors

We learned in the media the other day that the club of
Boavista was in serious financial difficulty. The club which is owned by Beautiful Game et
Gérard Lopezwould be on the verge of judicial liquidation according to their statements. Today the Portuguese club has just published a press release on its website to clarify the situation and go against what certain media had announced.

We can read through this press release that the club is in
Special Revitalization Plan, a sort of legal recovery plan at the French level. The club also assures that this is an important step for the future of the club, which aims to move towards positive things.

Here is the press release:

Since the announcement of our Special Revitalization Plan (PER), a lot has been said and written, but unfortunately, some of this information has been distorted or is completely false. When the new shareholder took over SAD, it already had a PER in progress which the previous administration was not able to continue. This new PER represents an important and positive step towards the future, but one which has been unfairly tarnished by the international press through untruths and false statements.

Jogo Bonito has already invested more than 30 million euros in Boavista, constantly demonstrating his support and solidarity with the SAD, including last summer. However, he always made it clear that the sustainability and self-management of the SAD were fundamental.

The PER reflects this new management approach. As we continue to evaluate and review past decisions, we are fully focused on building a more stable and sustainable future.

It is important to emphasize that Jogo Bonito never interfered, nor interfered, in the daily management of the SAD, but did his part to support us. Without your support, SAD would no longer exist – that’s a fact.

Now is the time to work together and move forward as a truly independent company, always with input from everyone involved.
