PSG and ASM, who have been waiting since this summer to finally compete in the Champions Trophy, now have at least one date.
The Board of Directors of the Professional Football League (LFP) approved this Thursday the date of Sunday January 5 for the holding of this gala match between the French champion and its first runner-up.
According to L'Equipe, the meeting has a strong chance of being relocated to Qatar, in Doha. A new Board of Directors scheduled for next Monday must approve this choice a priori.
An alternative remains under study, however, leading the two teams to Ivory Coast – a destination deemed more neutral by AS Monaco, which knows that PSG in Qatar will be playing on conquered ground.
The shock of the 16e advanced L1 day
Initially, this Champions Trophy was to be contested in Beijing last summer, but administrative delays reflecting the lack of Chinese enthusiasm pushed the LFP to turn around and look for another venue.
Does the programming for January 5 lead to an advancement of the poster for the 16e day of Ligue 1 between the two clubs concerned. The Monaco-PSG clash should therefore be played on Wednesday December 18, just three days after the 15e lifting.
