For Sene Web, the former defender of the Girondins de Bordeaux,
Lamine Sanéspoke about his visit to Senegal a few days ago, he who was incorporated for a few matches into the Senegal U17 team.
“I came to Senegal to reconnect with the Senegalese people and the welcome was, as usual, exceptional. And then also join the U17 National team. I had a team last year, and it went badly at the end because the club filed for bankruptcy. I still have friends in the national team and among the staff members, and I said to myself why not go and help the young Senegalese who need it, more than others in Europe. There are a lot of Senegalese players who go to Europe to work, so why not go and strengthen that world. I just proposed the idea, they accepted straight away. I spent three wonderful weeks with exceptional boys, who listen, who are hardworking, and who are eager to learn. We received these messages, and when we were younger, perhaps we were not aware of how lucky we were to be there. That's what I tried to convey to the young people, and I think they understood me right away because they got in tune, and they worked hard. It was intense.”
So, he would like to continue the adventure.
“I would like to participate in this adventure and try to accompany them. Afterwards, I understand very well that a staff is made up of certain people, but if I can bring added value and be useful… I am not here for glory, I want to be useful, my turn has passed […] My outlook is to climb the ladder little by little, without skipping steps, and one day become a coach first.”
