Interviewed today by Téléfoot, Florian Thauvin, in addition to having expressed his dream of returning to the French team, took stock of a possible return to Ligue 1. And today, that is not the trend: “Honestly, it's not the priority today. If there is a good opportunity with a big club, it will be studied but not just any club obviously” he said before deciding on the possibility of joining a rival of Olympique de Marseille: “A rival club to OM? I won't do it. It's having respect for OM but also for myself, for what I have done in my life, in my career, the colors that I have defended all these years. I didn't do it for nothing, not to go play for a rival.”
Thauvin will not join a rival of OM!
The reason is simple, OM is still in the heart of the 2018 world champion: “These are things that remain in my memory, which will follow me all my life. It's a source of pride for me. When I talk about it today with my son, he watches TV, I obviously watch all the matches, he immediately tells me 'oh, it's Marseille who are playing'” he declared before deciding on this OM version of De Zerbi: “Today, when I see the players signing for OM, it proves that the club has reached a milestone.”
From there to consider a return? No news according to the main person concerned: “We talked because even before Mehdi Benatia was manager of OM, we knew each other very well. But it's not current.”
