Matthieu Rabby: “The loss of the professional status of the Girondins is a real fundamental concern”

On 7, the President of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques District,
Matthieu Rabbyalso a candidate for president of the Ligue , spoke about the disappearance of two professional clubs in the region, the Girondins de and the Chamois Niortais.

“It hurts. The loss of the professional status of the Girondins is a real fundamental concern, especially since the situation remains precarious, fragile, uncertain. Is it a temporary transition, a lasting transition… It will have an impact. The Chamois Niortais, I unfortunately want to say that it will take a long time before they can claim the professional level again. I think that the League must support all these clubs, even FC, which does not escape various subjects. And above all, tomorrow, by wanting to find locomotives, it is up to the League to impose itself more in supporting the clubs which desire it. If there are N2 and N3 clubs that are not in favor of it, they are big enough to be able to develop. On the other hand, I want to be able to weigh in, if they wish, with the authorities and local authorities, with the public authorities. We also have people on our team who can provide their expertise. In short, it is not me who will recruit in place of the presidents of N2-N3 clubs, it is not me who will play, who will give them money, but we can undoubtedly support them more to find tomorrow a window and locomotives.”

How to keep young people in the region without a training center?

“If we have one last chance to be able to keep these young people, it will be up to the League to replace the professional clubs for a few years, since there is no training center. We will propose to the clubs to gradually equip themselves with two-three-four mini-training centers which will not be able to lead to an LFNA team, but which will undoubtedly make it possible to do post-Pôle Espoirs, to offer the 15 -19 years of staying in the region and not fleeing while being around training centers. One in the North, one in the center, one in the south, so that tomorrow the clubs will be supplied by our best young people.”
